Apple Intelligence On Your IPhone Probably Requires An Upgrade

Introduction of Apple Intelligence

Apple unveiled its generative AI platform, Apple Intelligence, during WWDC2024 on June 10, 2024, in Cupertino, California.

Device Compatibility

Apple Intelligence will be supported on devices running the M1 chip, including the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and various Macs. However, it will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max

Driving New iPhone Upgrades

The limited compatibility of Apple Intelligence with only the latest iPhone 15 Pro models could incentivize users to upgrade their iPhones this fall.

Decline in iPhone Revenue

Apple reported $45.96 billion in iPhone revenue for the second quarter, a nearly 10% decrease compared to the same quarter the previous year, indicating weak demand for the current iPhone lineup.

Beta Launch in the Fall

Apple Intelligence will launch in beta this fall, allowing users to access its new features and functionalities.

Enhanced Writing Capabilities

The AI platform can proofread and rewrite text in various tones, such as friendly or professional, enhancing user communication.

Custom Emoji Creation

Apple Intelligence will feature the ability to create custom emojis called “Genmoji,” allowing for more personalized and expressive messaging.

Advanced Siri Integration

Apple Intelligence will integrate with OpenAI’s ChatGPT to provide more detailed answers from Siri, significantly enhancing the virtual assistant's capabilities.
